Green Porno? What is the first thing that pops in your mind? How can something like Porno be described as Green? What is a Green Porno?
I am not sure when or what I was doing at the time, but I do remember that I was watching YouTube and I decided to search an actress, Isabella Rossellini. I remembered her in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet, and playing the so-called villain in Death Becomes Her.
Since watching her in those movies and currently her animal/nature series – I am obsessed with her. Her beauty, her intelligence, her acting, and voice (let’s not forget that). I am so fascinated by Rossellini’s take on natures sexual reproduction and behavior. The short films are visual and colorful, with occasional construction paper cut out props and puppets to tell the story of sex. Its raw, it’s honest, sometimes funny- it’s natural. With three seasons to date, two other shows produced as an extension of Green Porno called Seduce Me and Mammas. Seduce Me, a sequel to Green Porno focusing on the processes of animal seduction. Mammas focus on the sacrifices and behavioral process of mothers to their children.
I love all of these series, and I can’t wait for what’s next for Isabella Rossellini. You can find most of the videos on YouTube for free and on Sundance on their website. Here are some of my favorite ones!
