Diary of Songs

2 Playlists For The Price Of 1

So I was doing a little music clean out and organization (something you can do with your isolation time) and I realized that I made two playlists I never posted. So I thought, might as well release them at the same time. I wanted to make a new playlist but I already had two hidden in my pocket. I guess these songs are sort of part one and part two of growth. I think a lot has happened since the start of the first playlist and the one after that.

Who thought that going through old music would be somewhat emotionally exhausting. I started going through the playlist that started it all – We’ll let you know-, originally the playlist was not posted but I decided to edit into a previous post of new years 2019. It’s just a bunch of songs right? But for some reason, it meant much more than that to me. It was sort of a diary of songs and I even wrote in one of my journals an in-depth understanding and reading of what these songs mean to me. This was the time when I came out and when I broke off into the world. It was a time when I met new people and new friends, which are either still in my life or not at all. All the same, it’s a special moment in my life.

These next two playlists were ones that I got lost in but lost in a good way. A happy lost.

The named of the playlist  -i cant tell if im smiling-

This is the start of confusion and realization. I wasn’t sure if I was happy, hence not knowing for sure if I’m smiling because I feel that I haven’t been okay for a while. Smiling is a new action. I think I got a new hair cut. Maybe I was Continue reading “Diary of Songs”

-back on my bs- a playlist

My last playlist I made for 2019. Some good songs and good memories, I think things have changed like always. I’m already starting a new playlist for 2020, can’t wait to share soon 🙂

Do you guys like to make playlists? What have you been listening to?

-take me for example- a playlist

Yes yes yes, I know I just posted about a playlist. Well too bad! I make so many because my mood changes with thinks. My obsessions file through and I find new ones, that doesn’t mean the old ones are ever forgotten. It’s always a suprise to hear a song you loved many moons ago. I hope you enjoy this playlist. This represents a lot that is leading up for tomorrow ❤ Continue reading “-take me for example- a playlist”

A new playlist for the end of the summer…

Hey everyone, the summer is coming to a close so it’s time to transition to the fall season! Here are some songs I’ve been listening to for the last part of the summer. The title was inspired by a quote from the movie “The Crow”- some songs in here are from Continue reading “-it cant rain all the time- a playlist”

– all of our yesterdays – A Playlist

– all of our yesterdays – A Playlist

Playlists are my favorite to make. I don’t make them necessarily for anyone so they’re pretty personal. Most of the time when I go back to these playlists it makes me think of specific moments around that time. If I was happy, sad, or even frustrated. Those moments count, and music always comes through. Continue reading “– all of our yesterdays – A Playlist”

-breathing easy- A Playlist

New Anthem

New Anthem

A new year?! Who would have thought…

This new year has brought a lot on my plate, good and bad, and I think I’ve learned so much about myself. I don’t have all the answers, and that’s okay. I think this year I placed a lot of effort into my blogging and creative flow, maybe not as much as I wanted to, but obviously something is different with my style, aesthetic, and the things I like to talk about. I also feel that I have connected so much to my roommates, and although we are a full house of 6, it is still manageable and great to have people in your life. I can’t wait to see what shenanigans we get into ;). To be honest with you, I do and don’t remember much of 2018 yet I can feel the affects of it. Not that I didn’t pay attention, believe me I’ve taken everything in that has happened to me this year. I feel that all of this looking back should be beyond reminiscing, I always believed in growing and moving from the past. I do remember this year was very musical for me. I went to a lot of concerts and drowned myself in music to the point that it’s my matter of photosynthesis. I’ve met new people and reconnected with old ones. I don’t want to dabble what happened in 2018, but it was a great year that showed me so much beauty in life, people, and myself. Thing are going to be different but that’s what I love about life. I have so much love to give and share with others and I am so excited for the new things and memories to make.

I love you all very much.

Fall Playlist – Bumpkin Pumpkin

Its Fall 2018 and that means playlists! Like I said before, my playlists change, meaning that songs will be added during the period of the season. So…I hope you enjoy these picks. I know I’m not the best when it comes to picking out songs but these are currently the ones I’ve been listening to a lot. I’m always self-conscious Continue reading “Fall Playlist – Bumpkin Pumpkin”

Sumnerr Playlist

It might be too late to have a summer playlist but I wanted to share the songs that my summer consisted. Some of these are new faves others are old faves. Since I made a playlist I won’t do a Songs of The Week.

(playlist will change by the addition of songs)

Add Rock Bottom by King Krule. So sad its not on Spotify. But it still slaps 🙂

Give it a listen!! For more playlists go check out my spotify here.

Part 2: The DAD playlist

Part 2: The DAD playlist

I made a playlist inspired by my Dad’s taste in music.

One day while studying for an exam a thought came to me. I was listening to music and I realized how much my music taste has evolved and grown. I had music tasted that ranged from my mom to my dad. The time I would spend with them I remember that music was always involved in the background.

I don’t think my had has ever played an instrument in his life. I also wonder how my Dad, who can’t hold a tune, can produce a child like me that has sung all her life. But I will say, my Dad LOVES music. I think music helped him in so many ways in his life. He is in the military, and I remember him telling me that he downloaded a ton of music into his iPod so he can listen to it on trips or on the ships he had to stay in. Sucky thing is, he never had the name of the artist on the song files so it took him months until he could find the name of the song he fell in love with at the time. I remember that whenever he would visit he would show me a new singer or band. That eventually became the soundtrack to our time that we got to spend together. He would get my computer and download every song he had on his hard drive to my music library. Sometimes we would play a song so much throughout the day we would call it our Song of the Week, which inspired my SOTW that I write on this blog!

Music is such a wonderful memory maker and influencer. Some of these songs make me feel very nostalgic and wish that I could hear it again for the first time. I tried my best to pick all the best songs and I only wanted to select a certain number of songs. Some of these songs were played for me as a baby, some in my teen years, and some in my adult years.

Thank You Dad For The Music!

My mom played violin in her younger years but other than that, her love for music came from bands and music and experiences her life. I remember being in the back of the car and going through albums my mom would play. She kept a purple CD wallet thing on the floor of the car and she had so many burned CD’s. Being in the car while music played full blast was the best. I was so young, I had no idea what some of the songs or artists names were. It wasn’t until I actually got a device that I could download music on, that I learned the names of the songs and artists that were with me since birth. Later, my mom got Pandora and that’s where a lot of my mom’s new music came from. A lot of this artist on this playlist I made have inspired my taste in music, some more than others. I know for a fact that everytime my mom recommends me a song, I will more than likely like it.

Playlist: 🌸Springtime🌸

Playlist: 🌸Springtime🌸

Hello! Tuesday began the first day of spring. To continue our seasonal playlists, I made a Springtime playlist. I would have posted it on Tuesday but I already had another post scheduled for that day. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a playlist but I’ve been working on a project involving playlists (which will come in time). In my opinion, most of the songs are pretty chill. I collect these songs with no a particular thing or idea in mind, just the fact that I really like these songs :). New songs might be added in time or throughout the season. I really hope you enjoy the playlist, Spotify link is below!

Winter and New Years Playlist

Winter and New Years Playlist

I made this playlist last year in December. But since its going to be cold for the time being, here is my Chillz playlist of 2017-2018. I won’t be taking out any songs or sorting it, but I will add more songs and artists. If it ends up being too messy I’ll make a more organized playlist. I originally created this one to keep all the new songs I found from the band Triathalon and Twin Peaks. I hope you enjoy it!

My Spotify Wrapped 2017

My Spotify Wrapped 2017

I thought it was pretty neat that Spotify did this for their listeners…

Well, it is coming to the end of the Year and I wanted to share with you my wrap up of the year 2017. Now, for a lot of people 2017 has been a shit year- and I can’t agree with you more. But some of it has been really great. I have special people in my life, and I have wonderful music to accompany me. This was the year that I decided to change my major and to do something that I love and that I know I want to improve in. It’s been a year full of music and emotional roller coaster, and what I’m thankful for was making it out in the end.

My top songs of 2017 are definitely me. Mac Demarco has been one of the biggest influences and highlight of my year. I can’t believe I had the chance to see him. I have to admit, it was one of the greatest most surreal moments of my life.  Tyler the Creator has been a big hello for me. I remember it was nighttime in Japan and Tyler just released his newest album. I remember my boyfriend reminding me to listen to it. It was so beautiful and we both automatically had our favorites.IMG_1898

With this playlist below, some of the songs I did listen too. But I’m glad they gave me some new recommendations! Rex Orange County and Clario have been reoccurring artists for me and becoming some of my newest favorites.

Sometimes I feel like my mind is overloaded with music. But I think it’s great inspiration for me to write music and get started on projects and writing. I have so many ideas that are waiting to be released. I really should get to work on them!

I hope you guys had a good 2017. I know it must have been hard, but at least the music has been there for mine and your support. Music is love!

Playlist 7: Something About You

I realized that it has been a very long time since I have made a playlist of songs for you. I am so sorry for that! It honestly slipped my mind and it never thought about again. Now, every time I sit down with my laptop open and a fresh blank blog post- if I have writers block I know what to write/make- a playlist!

Since the summer I have come upon some new music. The excitement of concerts coming up this October has gotten me hyped for music. All of these are sort of in the same genre, this not the only music I listen to but it has been circling in my daily music plays. This is what I have for you and I hope you enjoy it :).
