SOTW #11

Hello! Happy Late Fourth of JU LIE! Today is Wednesday and I want to talk about my songs of the week. For this week I haven’t really been listening to normal songs on my phone. I have actually been enjoying the silence while I do things in my time. Or I actually play a random recommended music video or song from youtube. Here is what i have been listening:

Silly Girl by Lonely Benson

Memories by Fenster

Im recommend by this channel called TheLazylazyme. I haven’t listened to anything else but music from youtube. Let me know about what songs you all are listening to! I’d love to hear any new recommendations and artists!

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

New Artist Inspiration

Of course the way I spend my morning is watching the latest YouTube videos. I was watching a video about 20 minutes ago from youtuber lindseyrem and it was about her latest summer playlist. Already from the first artist she mentioned- Puzzle aka an extension of The Garden– I was interested in what else she would mention. The next artist was Temporex

I’ve been looking for a new artist with this type of music. It’s calming, simple, and relaxing. One way I could describe this sound is that it’s rounder, polished in a way. I really enjoyed the song Nice Boys from the album We Care. There is no effort to listen to and it is nice for some background sound and moments of lounging around.

This is a pretty nice find, and I can’t wait to lay back, write, read, and listen to it all summer.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

SOTW #10

Hello my Birdies, lately I’ve been writing a lot of poetry and reading books and it slipped my mind to talk about music and my songs of the week. This is what I’ve been listening to recently:

Baby Blue by King Krule

Late Bloomers by The Growlers

I’m on my way to go listen he album Ctrl by SZA. I heard some really good things about it so I can’t wait to hear it, especially because she is a female artist.

Give it a listen, give music a change.

☀️JMBLYA☀️

ARE YOU READYY FOR YOUR BLESSINGGGS???

This past weekend I went to the JMBLYA festival to she Chance the The Rapper. This was one of the greatest weekends I have ever had. It was actually one of the longest weekends I have had and the Friday was the last day I had classes. Which I was not able to go to any of them for certain reasons. Anyway, this weekend was extremely eventful, which is the reason why I could not write or post anything these past days. Most of the time we stayed up until 3. My body would wake up at 9:50 am every new day, which was very weird considering that we stayed up so late

On Friday my boyfriends sister’s,friends, and cousins all came to Austin to take us to the JMBLYA festival. JMBLYA (jambalaya) is a festival where all artists derive from hip-hop, rap,and EDM music. Honestly, I did not know any of these artists except for Chance the Rapper. But I feel that this festival gave me an opportunity to listen to new music and artists from this genre.

Here is the Line Up

This past week the Gorillaz release a new album called “Humanz”, and from their second song I was hooked. A banger. The song “Ascension” caught my mind, and from them on I have been blasting it on my headphones when I walk around. Very upbeat and loud but I like it, and I really do enjoy the rapper.

Ascension by The Gorillaz feat. Vince Staples

The second song that I have been really enjoying is

Perfect by Tyler the Creator Feat. Kali Uchis and Austin Fienstein

I remember I heard this song on twitter but there was no caption to the song. I was on youtube trying to look for new artists and I stumbled upon this gem. The sad thing is, it’s not on its own and is actually a part of another song of his called “Fucking Young”. Song is a nice aesthetic and visual, and around the time I was listening to it it was something I need to listen to to calm my nerves. I was also introduced to the singer Kali Uchis, which I discovered that I also like. I should also give Austin Fienstein a listen.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.
