The Drums- Abysmal Thoughts (An Album Appreciation)

The Drums- Abysmal Thoughts (An Album Appreciation)

This album – I have been obsessing over…

I wouldn’t call this an album review, more like an appreciation. This week I got really tired at picking music and skimming over my playlists, and what great way to fix the problem is by listening to an album, and I happened to pick The Drum’s 2017 album Abysmal Thoughts. I knew at least Continue reading “The Drums- Abysmal Thoughts (An Album Appreciation)”

Suns, Stars, Plants, and Moons…The Co-Star App

I have been obsessed with Astrology and in my own experience it is pretty accurate. One of my roommates told me about this app called Co- Star, where you can get a personalized reading that gives Continue reading “Mercury In Retrograde – Co-Star”

What I Do When I Feel…Creatively Frustrated

What I Do When I Feel…Creatively Frustrated

If I’m writing this post, it might be because I’m creatively frustrated. Haha – just a lucky guess.

I realized I forgot to write a post for today and here I am doing it very much last minute. Sounds like something I would do but I guess I work better under pressure.

I figured that I am not the only artist stuck in a rut, all of us (yes you are an artist too) are sometimes in a difficult place. Especially when it comes to a creative project or when you want to rekindle your creative spirit. It’s okay – we have al been there and we all will be there. Creative frustration should be a time to rebirth your spark.  I have a problem of thinking too much, way too much, to the point that I forget what I wanted to do/say/make/or act in that moment. It sucks, but I live with it. I have so much pen up excitement (and frustration) to just produce the words and images in my head. I just want to share, love, and make things for everyone! Here are some things I do to help myself. I find that this helps out a lot with how I think things through.

I give myself a solo music/dance scene

Yes. This is a faithful technique. It really just helps me feel better when I do this. I lip sync or literally sing along to my music while dancing in front of a mirror. I do this in the Continue reading “What I Do When I Feel…Creatively Frustrated”

Christmas Movies

Christmas Movies

What Are Your Favorite Christmas Movies?

Okay…let me get into the Holiday Spirit. I usually don’t post stuff that is into the holiday spirit, and sometimes I forget to get into the spirit. Christmas is a time of spending money and over buying and eating food. But besides that, I think spending time with family is the best part of it, and what better way to spend time with your family than watching Christmas movies together. Here are some movies I watch during Christmas time!

Isabella Rossellini’s – Green Porno

Isabella Rossellini’s – Green Porno

Green Porno? What is the first thing that pops in your mind? How can something like Porno be described as Green? What is a Green Porno?

I am not sure when or what I was doing at the time, but I do remember that I was watching YouTube and I decided to search an actress, Isabella Rossellini. I remembered her Continue reading “Isabella Rossellini’s – Green Porno”

Gratitude- Day 11 and 12

Gratitude- Day 11 and 12

Another double post! Enjoy!

Day 11

“I am grateful for the study times with RJ”

Sometimes getting out of the house is just what I need. It’s even better to have RJ to keep me company. Staying stuck in the house really does take a toll. So go outside, get some fresh air.

Day 12

” I am grateful for writing poetry”

I’m not the best poetry, but we all can’t be. I’m learning every day new ways to improve my writing. Sometimes I have really bad days or the first draft is terrible. Nothing is perfect the first time. Practice leads to improvement.

Gratitude – Day 9 and 10

Gratitude – Day 9 and 10

Hello!

Soooo this weekend has been really great! Sorry, I didn’t post daily but you’ll find out why!

Day 9-10

“I am grateful for Sophie!”

This gratitude log is for Friday and Saturday! My best friend came to Austin to visit me for my birthday! I know Tuesday last week was my birthday, but it wasn’t until this weekend that I could actually celebrate it to the fullest!

It was so fun and exciting to see her again! We missed each other so much and it’s always so amazing having her here!

I really needed this to brighten my week! College has been so stressful and Sophie definitely made everything better! I can’t wait to see her again this upcoming break!

Gratitude – Day 6

Gratitude – Day 6

“I am grateful for today, my Birthday!”

I just want to keep this post nice and short. I know this might be a little late but I wanted to make this post.

Although my birthday was filled with school and exams – it was also filled with people that I love and that care about me.

Don’t even waste your time feeling down or stressing about something in the past or to come. The future is ahead and there are moments to be enjoyed. 💖

I had such a great and beautiful 21st Birthday!

I love everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful night!

National Gratitude Month

I decided to challenge myself 30 days of Gratitude…

November is the month of Gratitude and many other holidays and events that are important in my life. I decided that I should probably start something new and fresh for the blog that is also good for my self-worth and growth. I’ve been feeling down a lot and filled with anxiety. I believe this stems from the overload of stress from college and reading and constant assignments left to right. I need to step back and reevaluate myself. I don’t like this stress, I want it to go away. I thought that by starting up a daily gratitude post for the month of November would be a great way to start. I have never done this before but I have kept a gratitude journal once, I never finished it.

November was the first day of Gratitude but I was not able to write things down. So for today, you get two doses of gratitude!

Gratitude November 1st:

“I am grateful for my boyfriend”

November 1st is his birthday! Happy Birthday!

He is one of my best friends and one of few people who really know me. He cares for me and makes me laugh. He reminds me to Continue reading “National Gratitude Month”

My Obsession With TWIN PEAKS

My Obsession With TWIN PEAKS

I AM A FAN GIRL FOR THE 1990’s SHOW TWIN PEAKS….

I’m not sure exactly when I started watching it, but I was looking through Hulu trying to find a new series to watch. That is when I stumbled upon Twin Peaks. Now I vividly remember going through my mom’s movies and TV show collection and playing a file called Twin Peaks, and I was so stupid and young with a low attention span that I didn’t even make it out of the long intro theme. But this second time I decided to watch it…

Part 2: The DAD playlist

Part 2: The DAD playlist

I made a playlist inspired by my Dad’s taste in music.

One day while studying for an exam a thought came to me. I was listening to music and I realized how much my music taste has evolved and grown. I had music tasted that ranged from my mom to my dad. The time I would spend with them I remember that music was always involved in the background.

I don’t think my had has ever played an instrument in his life. I also wonder how my Dad, who can’t hold a tune, can produce a child like me that has sung all her life. But I will say, my Dad LOVES music. I think music helped him in so many ways in his life. He is in the military, and I remember him telling me that he downloaded a ton of music into his iPod so he can listen to it on trips or on the ships he had to stay in. Sucky thing is, he never had the name of the artist on the song files so it took him months until he could find the name of the song he fell in love with at the time. I remember that whenever he would visit he would show me a new singer or band. That eventually became the soundtrack to our time that we got to spend together. He would get my computer and download every song he had on his hard drive to my music library. Sometimes we would play a song so much throughout the day we would call it our Song of the Week, which inspired my SOTW that I write on this blog!

Music is such a wonderful memory maker and influencer. Some of these songs make me feel very nostalgic and wish that I could hear it again for the first time. I tried my best to pick all the best songs and I only wanted to select a certain number of songs. Some of these songs were played for me as a baby, some in my teen years, and some in my adult years.

Thank You Dad For The Music!
